A triple bill of thrilling spoken word performances.
MARSM, renowned for celebrating Arabic arts in the UK, presents an evening showcasing three inventive and compelling spoken-word and musical artists: Rafeef Ziadah, Dana Dajani and Juliana Yazbeck. From protest songs to social insights, humour and grief, these three stellar artists come together to celebrate the power of words.
This event is part of Grand Junction’s ‘Comfort & Courage’ online streaming season. Bringing the stage to the comfort of your living room, Comfort and Courage is a season of music, poetry and discussion performed live from the neo-gothic St Mary Magdalene’s church – and live streamed for online audiences. As the pandemic shines a spotlight on injustices and the effect on our mental health, in Comfort and Courage, artists and political voices explore how they balance emotional well-being with creative expression, and share what gives them comfort, and the courage to speak out.
Streamed live at 7.30pm BST on Fri 19 March, or watch on-demand for a further 14 days, for the price of £8.
