A Season of Arabic Culture

As Marsm enters a new chapter of its work in the City of London, we are proud to introduce A Season of Arabic Culture: a multi-year programme celebrating the music, film, dance, food and cultures of the Arabic-speaking world.

Building on the success of our previous seasons, this programme brings people together across the Square Mile through shared cultural experiences. From live music and film screenings to dance, food, talks and hands-on workshops, each season is an invitation to discover something new, meet others and experience the richness and diversity of Arabic culture.

At the heart of the programme is a simple idea: culture can bring people together. Our Darbuka Drumming Circle in 2025, delivered in partnership with Age UK, showed how shared experiences can break down barriers between communities, with residents crossing wards, people of different ages and backgrounds joining together and many encountering the darbuka and its musical traditions for the first time.

Over three years, A Season of Arabic Culture will bring nine seasons of activity to communities across the City. The programme is designed with residents in mind, creating opportunities to connect, participate and shape experiences together, while helping to reduce isolation, strengthen social wellbeing and build lasting connections between communities.

Whether Arabic culture is already part of your life or you are discovering it for the first time, there is something for everyone. With events taking place across the City and many free opportunities to take part, we invite you to come together, explore and share in a celebration of Arabic culture.
