An intimate solo recital weaving together new songs, storytelling and a unique performance by 5-time ARIA Award winner.

Five-time winner of the ARIA award, Joseph Tawadros is established as one of the world’s leading oud performers and composers. A virtuoso of diversity and sensitivity, Joseph has performed in concert halls across the world and is known for his brilliant technique, deep musicianship and his joyous style of performance. He is also an engaging storyteller whose concerts are known as much for good humour alongside top musicianship.

Challenging traditional musical forms, and pushing boundaries in metre and melody, this exciting program features original music by the acclaimed composer and oud virtuoso. His works take inspiration from the Arabic modal system (maqam) and blend them seamlessly with elements of western classical, jazz, world, folk, and even metal and bluegrass.

From thrilling and furiously-paced numbers to beautifully introspective and tranquil compositions, it is woven together by Joseph’s trademark lyricism and the striking contemporary musicality of his oud.
