A first of its kind, Jazziyat is a musical revival that brings a contemporary twist to classical renditions by the musical giants of the Arab world, including the likes of Umm Kulthum, Abdel Halim Hafez, Abdel Wahab and Asmahan.

Giving classical Arabic music influences a contemporary sound, Banah and her quartet take audiences on a journey through the eminent hits that have shaped the Arabic music industry since the 1930s. Her musical interpretation plays on combining modernised elements with memorable classics that have been received with high acclaim at key festivals across the region including the Bahrain Jazz Festival. Banah’s ability to sing in both English and Arabic as well as various genres including jazz, blues, classic rock, pop, and traditional Arabic has enabled a unique standing that differentiates her from many other artists in the Arabic-speaking world.

Selling out the Elgar Room at the Royal Albert Hall in 2022, she makes her anticipated return to London with an updated repertoire.

This event is part of the EFG London Jazz Festival 2023.
